    The current period displayed in my file is 01/04/2013 to 31/03/2014. and financial year from 1-4-2012.I need to enter a voucher in 10-4-2012, but still i am receiving the error “date above current period”. What could possibly cause such error. Kindly help….

    i’ve started entering voucher in the financial year 13-14, but when start in a voucher in the previous year (ie; 12-13) i get an error “date below starting of books 1 apr 2013”. i’ve corrected the the date in gateway of tally to 12-13.

    Currently am using tally version 9 , am using from last 2 years like Alwan Painting Works LLc 2011 – 12 (10001) , Alwan Painting Works LLC 2012-13 (10002) And Current Year I have to Create Like Alwan Painting Works LLC 2013-14 (10003).

    Can you help us for the current period, how to create ?

    You are using Tally Educational Version, in educational version it will accept date only 1,2 and 30 or 31 of that month

    i want to know that when i edit something inthe configuration it changes that time , but after closing tally and again starting the tally the chages i made were vanish and the tally is as it is previously. such as if i edit something in sales invoice configuration, that is height , width, page no. that time it changes but on the next day i have to make the changes again . please help me

    Close your all companies in Tally
    From company info screen press f12 > Data Configuration
    Loan Companies on Startup : Make it No

    and save the canges.

    Now try by opening new Tally window

    Financial year will not affect your data.
    if you want to change your financial year you have to come to Gate way of Tally > Press F2 >
    Change your period

    Check you company data folder size

    Come to Gateway of Tally Press Alt + F2 change your period automatically your last year closing balance will carried forward to next year

    Sir I am using tally 9
    created a company (financial year 01-4-2013 to 31-03-2014)
    in gate way of tally it shows correctly.

    But when we enter in voucher entry only 01-04-2013 is accepted no other date is accepted.

    I have changed the accounting period of my company from (1-4-2012 to 31-03-2013).

    My all voucher has been set for automatic numbering. All vouchers entered from 1-4-2012 to 31-3-2013 are correctly auto-numbered. However, voucher entered after 31-3-2013 are starting to be numbered again from 1. last two months voucher alredy post (1.4.2013 / 21.06.2013). but voucher number continue ….., not start from 01.

    Please assist on how I can fix this.

    Dear Arvind Kumar,

    Go to Gateway of Tally > Accounts Info > Voucher Type > Alter
    Enable : Use Advance Configuration to Yes
    Do the necessary changes
    Starting Number : 1
    Restart Numbering :
    Applicable from type 1.4.2013
    Starting Number : 1 or whatever you want to display in vocuher
    and save it

    Sir, I am using tally 9 My date of last entry stuck at April 13, 2013 so every time that I’m checking balance only until April 13 is showing and I need to change period every time to see the current entry. Pls help me solve this matter. Thanks

    Dear Tanya,

    You have to change your current period once form Gate way of Tally e.g 01/04/2013 to 31/03/2014.
    If your Tally configuration gets changed after opening a Tally then you have to do some changes
    for that click here

    hi! I am from Nepal, I am using tally 7.2 educational version and i am running in period 1-4-2005 31-03-2006. now i trying to change the period to 1-8-2013 31-7-2014. period was slidely changed and i take backup from c drive original folder same date. now next day i will try to log in same company showing error -“exiting tally! tally date detailed change need to rewrite before proceeding” i was trying so many times to fix it.but i couldn’t get solution. now i have no idea how to recover my all data til date. Please help me.

    Sir,
    When I open more company, from the more I choose one to enter voucher, in that case my selected one takes the current period of first company I opened. For example I have two company, the FY of 1st one is 12-13 and 2nd one is 13-14. If i opened the first, then again I opened the 2nd, 2nd one ever takes the current period of 1st one. I have tried to make no start up co loaded. In that case if I open one company then its okay but if I try to open both by select company mode in that case period is ever take the which i opened first. Plz help.

    my current period is 01.04.2012-31.03.2013 and current date is 31.03.2013
    still when i enter the voucher date as 10.05.2012 an error message is displayed as date above current period 01.04.2012

    Open the company and come to main screen i.e. Gate way of Tally
    Press Alt + F2 Change your current period 01/04/2012 to 31/03/2013
    and now you try

    Tally always take bydefault period of your first open company.
    if you open second company bydefault period will be the same of first company
